AI Calling Agents (Trucking)

2 agents — One hires, one checks trucks

An Illinois trucking company had two phone-heavy jobs eating staff time: screening every driver applicant, and running recurring safety checks with every driver. We built two AI voice agents (Vapi + Make.com + OpenAI + Twilio + Google Sheets). Roxy runs the full driver screening interview by phone — experience, endorsements, violations, start date — telling owner-operators apart from company drivers and walking qualified drivers through submitting their CDL. Ray runs structured safety/maintenance checks, follows up on reported problems, and flags safety issues to the team immediately. Both agents load their questions from the company's own spreadsheets (edited without a developer), log every answer with a timestamp, detect voicemail, and text any no-answer. We ran 70+ test call cycles before drivers heard the agents. It replaced an estimated 60–80% of routine call workload and runs in the client's own accounts.
