AI Director Matching
3–7 — Directors shortlisted from 500, with reasons
A commercial production company matches directors to advertising briefs, and picking the right one from a roster of 500 used to mean hours of scrolling reels — with the same familiar names winning because they were easiest to remember, while the best-fit directors deep in the database went unconsidered. Half the database was also too thin to search well. We built two automations (monday.com + Zapier + Apify + Grok/OpenAI). When a brief is marked ready, the system reads its fields (brand, category, tone, budget, location, hard requirements), searches the full 500-director database in filtered batches, and has the AI weigh creative fit — including adjacent styles like a documentary director suiting a charity brief — returning a shortlist of 3–7 with the reasoning written back into the brief's row on the board. A second enrichment flow scrapes thin directors' public portfolios and generates 20–30 tags (bio, style, brand history) so the database improves itself every week. Hard requirements are obeyed exactly; open briefs widen the search. Built against the real 500-record database. Verified 5-star client review. Runs in the client's own accounts.
